I am writing to thank you for how gently and deeply, across all levels, you touch my life. I am waking up each day to the remembrance and thankfulness for you as my practitioner. For the clear reflection, with which you listen. For the thoughtfulness with which you prepare resources for me before each meeting. For making Qi Gong instruction, simple, short, exquisitely metaphoric. For being grounded, when I feel shaken inside.

Thank you so much for helping me during my stay in Gainesville. You have shared so much of yourself, your time, your skills and wisdom. It means more than you know. I am leaving stronger than when I arrived and know that your work has been a great part of my healing. I am forever grateful.

I was so impressed with the results after receiving Classical Five Element Acupuncture as a patient that I became an Acupuncture Physician. I felt transformed from the maladies that had plagued me for most of my life. I started acupuncture with some physical complaints, surprised to realize it would help me with anxiety and depression. Feeling more comfortable and more at ease and more confident, I decided to leave a very successful career in the computer field and enter acupuncture college.
In addition to being in private practice for over 20 years, I have taught for 17 years at six different Acupuncture Colleges; Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, Florida School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Mandarin School of Oriental Medicine, Institute of Classical Acupuncture and School of Complimentary Medicine.
I started my Tai Chi training in 1976 in Maui, Hawaii the Yang style short form which is the lineage of Master Cheng Man-Ching. My apprenticeship with the School of Tai Chi Chuan began 35 years ago and included teaching public classes. After graduating Acupuncture College, I taught Tai Chi Chuan for several acupuncture schools.  In 2007 I added Qi Gong to my training. I have taught internal martial arts at The Florida School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, and Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine.

Donna has been practicing acupuncture for over 20 years.  She graduated from the Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture, she studied with the late Dr. J.R. Worsley in Miami Lakes and in Leamington Spa, England.

Classical Five Element Acupuncture treats the person, not the disease. With this system of medicine we can address the underlying cause, not just the symptoms, by diagnosing the “causative factor”. Clearing energetic blocks is one of the effective aspects of this style of acupuncture. When this part of the treatment is complete the patient often comments that they already feel much better.  This manifests as more mental clarity and improvement in their emotional state, as well as positive changes in physical complaints.

One of the most beautiful things about Classical Five Element Acupuncture is direct moxibustion. Burning moxa on acupuncture points builds life force (qi) and healing energy. Burning moxa on acupuncture points before inserting the thread-like needle enhances the treatment significantly. It gives the patient more qi so that when the needle is inserted, there is a better response.

I have had amazing results with serious diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis completely resolved, allowing the patient to stop a medication that had a serious side effects. Patients have experienced complete recovery from allergies, asthma, anxiety, depression, migraines, chronic fatigue, insomnia, digestive disorders, fibromyalgia, Trigeminal Neuralgia, addictions and pain, including, back, neck, shoulder, hip and knee pain.

Nutritional counseling is part of the treatment when it is apparent that diet is part of the disease.
